Since 2007, the financially stricken Alitalia has been treating itself to a gradual renewal of its 1971 vintage corporate identity In 1966, Alitalia became one of the most important DC-9 customers in Europe and still operates approx. 80 examples of the type DC-9-82, or MD-82 for short, on its domestic and European routes today. But these airplanes are gradually reduced and replaced by airplanes of the Airbus A320 family. The original of this to 2,000 items limited model novelty with the new livery and the registration I-DACN was commissioned in September 1990 with the name Rieti by the then domestic subsidiary ATI (Aero Trasporti Italiani).
