Dan-Air (Dan Air Services Limited) was founded in 1953 by the shipping company Davis and Newman. From 1966 until 1967, with a total of forty-nine Comets in the fleet, Dan-Air became the biggest and longest-term operator of this airplane type worldwide – the last Comet was retired as late as 1981. The original of this limited-edition mold novelty with the registration G-APDB was one of the first Comets in the fleet.
