In the 1980s, KLM already operated Airbus A310-200 jets, which were later replaced by Boeing 767s, and the latter now by A330-200s. Six airplanes have been ordered, which also has something to do with new fleet policy coming from the Air France-dominated parent company Air France-KLM. The model comes with the registration PH-AOA.
