On 1 July 1947, the then US president Truman received his own “company airplane”. It was based on a DC-6, but was operated with the official classification VC-118. The “Independence”, named after the president’s hometown, received a livery, which was originally intended for an airline, which discarded it. With this livery, the first DC-6 model will now be released in the 1/400 scale.
