With the reorganization of British aviation after WWII, British European Airlines (BEA) was responsible for the domestic and the European traffic. With the beginning of the 50s, BEA was also operating the revolutionary Vickers Viscount, powered by four turboprops. The first of 39 examples of the –802 and –806 series was in 1956 the original of this model with the registration G-AOJB.
