For a long time, Cathay Pacific Airlines has solely distributed the models itself. Now, the airline has complied with the wish of many customers and collectors and granted Herpa permission to sell them in the retail collection in Europe. In 2007, the airline was able to announce its acceptance into the “Club of mega carriers”, consisting of airlines who operate more than 100 airplanes. The honor of being the 100th airplane in the Cathay fleet went to an Airbus A330-300X, which was commissioned this year with the registration B-LAD. To mark the fleet’s new status it received a special livery and the slogan “Progress Hong Kong”.
