Varig Boeing 767-200

The once national airline of Brazil was founded as early as 1927, but had to cease operations in June 2009. For many years, Varig could boast to be one of the best airlines in the world, enjoying great popularity and international respect. The 767-200ERs which entered service in 1987 were – as twin-engine jets only – allowed to perform long overwater flights, for example to Europe or, in the case of Varig, even to South Africa. With a range of up to 12,000 kilometers, the small 767 even outperformed its larger fleet sisters, the DC-10, MD-11, and 747. To mark the 40th anniversary of the Boeing 767, this Varig model will now be released as a part of a collector’s series will be expanded with more models in the months to come.
