In 2021, Air France discreetly renewed its livery, in parallel continuing the modernization of its fleet. Having previously retired the Boeing 747 and Airbus A380, the smaller Airbus A318 and A319 have since 2021 been earmarked to be replaced by no less than 60 A220-300s. Among the very first of the new jets, F-HZUF entered service in December 2021 named for the fashionable Mediterranean community of St. Tropez. The model was produced using a new mold featuring improvements to the wings and engines.
