Boeing 777-9

After years of delays, it now appears that Boeing's future flagship is close to delivery. The final tests for certification of the 777-9 are expected to be successfully completed in 2026, meaning that the 76.7-meter-long aircraft should receive official approval before the end of the year. All five test aircraft, including N779XW, are part of the test program. As the first of currently eleven airlines that have ordered a total of more than 500 of this latest version of the "Triple Seven", Lufthansa will, as things stand at present, be able to deploy the first aircraft in its 2027 summer flight schedule. In order to achieve a higher payload while saving fuel, the wingspan was increased by seven meters to 71.8 meters. The wing tips can be folded up so that the aircraft fits into standard gate parking spaces. This is also the case on this new 1/200 scale tooling. And since it's often not just size that counts, the weight has been more than doubled compared to its predecessor, the 777-300, to further enhance its value as a truly special collector’s item. A display stand is included.
