The Tupolev TU-154 with the registration HA-LCA was the first Soviet-built trijet delivered to the Hungarian national airline. However, prior to its entry into service on September 5, 1973, Malév—and Dr. Fülöp András in particular—played a key role in the development of the TU-154B-2 variant. As chief pilot, he led Malév into the jet age with the introduction of the first jet aircraft, the TU-134, in 1968. Renowned as a pilot far beyond the country’s borders, he helped Tupolev reduce the cockpit crew for the new TU-154B-2 variant from the original five members to three. Since 2018, HA-LCA has not only been on display at the Aeropark at Budapest Airport in the classic livery of the Hungarian national airline from the 1970s and 1980s, but also bears the name of the man who played a leading role in the further development of the TU-154 and Malév as a whole for nearly thirty years. A display stand is included. ,The Tupolev TU-154 with the registration HA-LCA was the first Soviet-built trijet delivered to the Hungarian national airline.
