Through to the 1980s, the C-160s of the German Air Force were painted in the so-called “Norm 72” camouflage scheme with grey and olive drab, but with rudder, wingtips and engine pylons painted in a high-visibility orange. Since entering service with Transport Wing 63 back in 1968, the Transall has proven its reliability on countless military and humanitarian missions. The unit, based at Hohn in Northern Germany, is the last German unit equipped with the C-160.
