Following the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350, the "Queen of the Skies" is now sporting Lufthansa’s anniversary livery featuring the iconic crane—this time in XXL format. This Boeing 747-8, christened "Niedersachsen", was painted in San Bernardino, California, and completed its first scheduled flight in its new livery on March 6, flying from Frankfurt back to the US west coast — this time to Los Angeles. Like all aircraft in the 100th-anniversary special series, the jumbo jet will also be released in a total of three versions: as a 1/500 scale metal model as announced here, and soon to follow also as a model in our SnapFit series (1/250 scale) as well as a highly detailed collector’s model in 1/200. ,Following the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350, the "Queen of the Skies" is now sporting Lufthansa’s anniversary livery featuring the iconic crane—this time in XXL format.
